Our pub on the beach
Nestled just beneath Shanklin Chine in an enviable location at the far end of Shanklin Esplanade you will find Fisherman’s Cottage, the town’s original thatched dining pub on the beach with a rich heritage dating back to 1817.
Until 2nd November Fisherman’s Cottage will be open 7 days a week:
Monday – Sunday: 10am – 10pm

Bookings are being taken for inside and outside tables via bookings@shanklinchine.co.uk.
Please note that dogs are welcome in our outside space only and must be kept on a lead at all times. We will be happy to reserve an outside table for you if you have a dog.
All reserved email bookings will be sent an email confirmation, which must be shown on arrival as proof of booking. Tables shall only be held for 15 minutes after the reserved time.

Deposits and Cancellation Policy
We request a non-refundable deposit of £10 per person for parties of 6 and above (including children) payable at the time of making the reservation.
The dining pub is famed for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere and its delicious home-cooked food, specialising in seafood which can be found on the daily specials board.
Sunday roasts will be available from September.
Lost Property
Please visit Fisherman’s Cottage Bar and ask for the Manager if you are still on site to report your lost item. Alternatively, if you have already left, please report your item by emailing bookings@shanklinchine.co.uk.
Important Information
- Fisherman’s Cottage cannot accept responsibility for any items lost inside Fisherman’s Cottage or in the car parks.
- Perishables will be disposed of immediately along with soiled items.
- If your item is found, you will be contacted by email, usually within 48 hours. We will hold your found item for 1 month only.
- We charge a postage and packaging fee of £4.95 to send the item back to you, using a 48hr Track and Trace Service. In the event that your item weighs in excess of 5kg, the cost of postage will increase accordingly.
- Unclaimed and unreported items are held for 3 weeks.
- All unclaimed items are either donated to charity, recycled, or disposed of with personal information/details enclosed destroyed.
- We’re proud to say we were awarded a 5* food hygiene rating at our last inspection in 2024.
